As the world of indoor gardening grows, so does the mass production of plants. To accommodate the growing demand of plants, wholesalers are ramping up propagation to meet said demand. With scaling production comes mishaps. Every year, thousands of cosmetically imperfect, yet healthy, plants are thrown in the trash due to retailer’s fear of unhappy clientele.

In partnership with The Plant Rescuer’s effort to bring awareness to this issue, we now offer Plant Rescue Boxes! If you love a good plant project that needs some extra love and care, these are just the thing for you! Please note that less healthy plants may need a bit more attention, and experiencing with rehabilitating plants.

Each box will contain the selected amount of plants that have cosmetic imperfections, past pest damage, are unrooted, etiolated, or have been sunburned for example. Any plants with prior pest damage will be free of pests at the time of shipping. However, please quarantine your new arrivals as you typically would when introducing new plants to your collection. .

The contents of each box will be randomly selected.

We ship orders through UPS 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, or Next Day Air Monday through Wednesday. Orders placed Wednesday - Sunday will ship during the following week. Our average processing time is 2-3 business days.

For Plant Rescue Boxes, please allow up to one week for processing and shipping.

During winter months, thermal insulation is complimentary, as well as weather checks. We reserve the right to delay shipment for inclement weather.

Live Arrival is guaranteed with UPS 2nd Day or UPS Next Day Air, so long as appropriate measures are taken by the buyer, ie. being home at time of first attempted delivery, adding a heat pack to the order if local weather is under 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and entering the correct shipping information.

Most plants are shipped with their roots wrapped in Sphagnum Moss, a paper towel, and plastic wrap to retain moisture for the root system. Foliage is then wrapped in a soft material, and then the whole plant is wrapped in black kraft paper to secure the plant from movement in the box.

Please note that yellowing or browning of leaves could occur in transit.

Aroids enjoy moderately warm and humid climates. The plant shown here lives in an environment that is approximately 70F, and around 70% humidity.

If your plant was shipped bare root, upon arrival to your home, check the roots for any signs of damage or rot. If rot appears, trim the affected roots with clean scissors or pruning shears, and plant into the new pot with well drained sphagnum moss, or well draining potting mix for aroids.

We recommend waiting a day to water your new plant after repotting, as this will reduce the risk of root rot.

Plants will acclimate best when they are introduced to an environment similar to our growing conditions.
